Introducing Tracey Weaver, Attorney at Law

Tracey is an Attorney at Law and a NCDRC Certified Superior Court Mediator. She spent nearly two decades working with the North Carolina Industrial Commission, first as a Special Deputy Commissioner and then as Executive Secretary. She has been a regular speaker on workers’ compensation law and has been featured in over 100 seminars and presentations.

Tracey opened her mediation practice, Tracey Weaver Mediation, PLLC, in January 2012. Since that time, Tracey has mediated over 1,000 cases. She has spoken on Mediation Strategy, Mediation Do’s and Don’ts, and contributed to a publication on Alternative Dispute Resolution [Weaver, Tracey (Sumwalt, Vernon (editor)). “Alternative Dispute Resolution (Chapter 5).” Lexis-Nexis Practice Guide: North Carolina Workers’ Compensation (LEXIS-NEXIS ® © 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 eds.).] Tracey has also served on the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Council and the North Carolina State Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section Council.

Tracey is based out of both Winston-Salem, NC and Charlotte, NC. Traditionally, she has mediated at any location within a two-hour radius of Winston-Salem. In the present environment, she mediates remotely and in-person. In-person mediations are conducted as allowed by local and state regulations and upon agreement by the participating parties. Tracey is proficient in the use of Zoom and DocuSign for remote mediations.

Tracey is a North Carolina native and received a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law. She is involved with numerous organizations, including serving on the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Board of Visitors, North Carolina Museum of History Associates Board, and Carolina Parent Leadership Society Steering Committee. Tracey loves people, dogs, plants and flowers, travel and, most of all, spending time with family, friends, and colleagues.
